Expands workers' compensation presumptions for hernia, pneumonia, heart trouble, cancer, tuberculosis, bloodborne infectious disease, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus skin infection, and meningitis to lifeguards employed year-round on a full-time basis in the Boating Safety Unit by the City of San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

Adds presumptions for post-traumatic stress disorder and exposure to biochemical substances for lifeguards in the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department's Boating Safety Unit, with presumption extending up to 60 months following termination of employment.

Increases the period after employment termination that San Diego Boating Safety Unit lifeguards can file claims for skin cancer based on years of service, not to exceed 60 months.

Adds peace officers (as defined in Penal Code Sections 830.2(e) and (f)) to the list of employees covered by skin cancer presumptions in Section 3212.11, with the same 60-month post-employment filing period as lifeguards.

Section 3212.17 (post-traumatic stress disorder presumption) is set to expire and be repealed on January 1, 2025, unless extended by subsequent legislation.
