Dependent children ages 16 and older may consent to opioid use disorder medications from licensed narcotic treatment programs as replacement therapy without parent, guardian, or court approval, only if permitted by federal law.

Dependent children ages 16 and older may consent to buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder at a physician's office, clinic, or health facility without parental consent or court order.

Social workers must inform dependent children ages 10 and older of their rights to consent to health services including sexual assault treatment, pregnancy care, disease treatment, mental health care, and substance abuse treatment, and must inform them of confidentiality protections.

Social workers may provide dependent children with age-appropriate information about sexual development, reproductive health, and disease prevention, and may facilitate access to reproductive and sexual health care services.
