Promotes awareness and education efforts regarding lung cancer screening using low-dose computed tomography, which is recommended by the American Cancer Society and United States Preventive Services Task Force since 2013

Notes that fewer than 1 percent of approximately 850,000 high-risk Californians eligible for lung cancer screening actually undergo screening, despite early detection significantly improving survival rates (64.8 percent for localized stage versus 8.3 percent for distant stage)

Encourages efforts to increase lung cancer screening access and awareness, particularly among racial and ethnic groups experiencing health disparities in lung cancer incidence and mortality
