Proclaims June 29, 2024, as Play Day and encourages all Californians to participate in play on that day.

Acknowledges significant disparities in youth sports participation based on household income and race, with children from families earning over $150,000 annually having a 93 percent sports participation rate compared to 68 percent for families earning below $35,000.

Recognizes the "play equity gap" as a barrier to youth development, including high costs, lack of safe facilities, insufficient trauma-informed coaching, and exclusion based on disability.

Supports the LA84 Foundation's Play Equity Fund and its 40-year legacy since the 1984 Summer Olympic Games, promoting the removal of barriers to equitable access to sports and play for all children.

Directs the Chief Clerk of the Assembly to transmit copies of the resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
