Recognizes May 27, 2024, as Memorial Day, a day of national unity dedicated to commemorating and remembering all service members who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Acknowledges that more than 1,000,000 American service members have sacrificed their lives for the nation since the Continental Army was established in 1775.

Notes that Memorial Day tradition began in 1868 as "Decoration Day" established by General Orders No. 11, originally honoring those killed in the Civil War.

Recognizes that Memorial Day has been observed on the last Monday in May since 1971 and has evolved to honor all American service members who died in defense of the nation across all conflicts.

Directs the Chief Clerk of the Assembly to transmit copies of the resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
