Designates July 23-30, 2024, as Boat People Awareness Week to honor Vietnamese refugees who fled Vietnam by boat after the Vietnam War.

Designates September 2024 as Boat People Awareness Month in recognition of the Vietnamese boat people humanitarian crisis.

Acknowledges that approximately 800,000 Vietnamese fled Vietnam between 1975 and 1995, with between 200,000 and 400,000 dying at sea according to UN estimates.

Recognizes the major influx of Vietnamese refugees to the United States following the fall of Saigon, with approximately 725,000 Vietnamese settling in America after the war and over 1,000,000 people of Vietnamese ancestry living in the U.S. by 2000.

Notes significant Vietnamese refugee communities established in California, including Little Saigon in Westminster, Orange County, and large settlements in San Jose and San Diego.
