CA SB1027

Authorizes campaign committees to redact bank account numbers on statements of organization filed with local filing officers and requires the Secretary of State to redact bank account numbers before making statements publicly available.

Requires the Secretary of State to redact the names of authorized persons (those other than the treasurer authorized to access bank records) on statements of organization filed with the state before public release, with committees also able to redact this information on local filings.

Modifies Section 84615 to require online/electronic filing systems to exclude bank account numbers from publicly available Internet data while maintaining complete unredacted copies available upon request, except as provided in Section 84101.

Makes legislative findings that these limitations on public access are necessary to protect filers' privacy and prevent financial fraud, as required by the California Constitution.

Declares the bill furthers the purposes of the Political Reform Act of 1974.
