Expands Labor Code Section 4850 to include park rangers employed on a regular, full-time basis by a county or special district as eligible for paid leave of absence due to work-related injury or illness.

Park rangers meeting eligibility requirements receive leave without loss of salary for up to one year while disabled by injury or illness arising from their duties, in lieu of temporary disability or maintenance allowance payments.

Park rangers must be peace officers under Penal Code Section 830.31 and employed on a regular, full-time basis to qualify for the leave of absence provision.

Leave of absence taken by park rangers shall not be deemed to constitute family care and medical leave under Government Code Section 12945.2 or reduce authorized family care and medical leave time.
