CA SB1092

Requires the California Coastal Commission to submit a report to the Legislature by December 31, 2025, regarding appeals of local government coastal development permits filed between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2024.

Report must include the percentage of local government coastal development permit actions that were appealed to the commission.

Report must provide the number of business days between when each appeal was filed and when the commission took final action on the appeal.

Report must include the percentage of appeal applications the commission accepts to hear, and of those accepted, the percentages for which the commission approved or denied the permit.

For appeals taking the longest time to process, the report must identify factors that contributed to the above-average processing time.

This reporting requirement is repealed on January 1, 2028.
