Members of the board of directors and executives of groundwater sustainability agencies must file statements of economic interests with the Fair Political Practices Commission using the Commission's online filing system.

"Executive" is defined as the executive director, general manager, or equivalent position at a groundwater sustainability agency.

Violations of these filing requirements are subject to existing Political Reform Act of 1974 penalties, including criminal penalties for knowing or willful violations.

No state reimbursement is required because costs result from creating new crime or infraction penalties under existing law.

Bill furthers the purposes of the Political Reform Act of 1974 by promoting transparency and preventing conflicts of interest in groundwater resource management.
