Requires social media platforms with at least 1,000,000 California users to verify the name, telephone number, and email address of "influential users" (those with 50,000+ views in 7 days, 15,000+ followers, or in top 6% by engagement) by a platform-chosen method.

Requires social media platforms to verify the government-issued identification of "highly influential users" (those with 100,000+ views in 7 days, 30,000+ followers, or in top 3% by engagement).

Mandates platforms display whether influential and highly influential users are "authenticated" or "unauthenticated" on their profile pages in text as large and visible as the user's name, and attach authentication status notations to their posts.

Allows platforms to require users to opt out of receiving posts from unauthenticated users and permits platforms to implement stricter verification requirements than those mandated.

Authorizes the Attorney General, district attorneys, and city attorneys to seek injunctive relief to compel compliance, with prevailing plaintiffs entitled to recover reasonable attorney's fees and costs.
