CA SB1283

Authorizes school district governing boards, county boards of education, and charter school governing bodies to adopt policies limiting or prohibiting pupils' use of social media while at school or under supervision of school employees.

Defines "social media" as a "social media platform" under Business and Professions Code Section 22675.

Explicitly prohibits schools from monitoring, collecting, or accessing information related to a pupil's online activities under this authority.
