CA SB13

Requires courts to provide written advisory to persons convicted of or pleading guilty/no contest to unlawful manufacture, transport, sale, or distribution of controlled substances under Health and Safety Code sections 11351, 11352, or 11379.6.

Advisory warns that manufacturing or distributing controlled substances creates grave health risks and that if a person dies as a result, the manufacturer or distributor can be charged with voluntary manslaughter or murder.

Mandates the advisory be provided in writing on the plea form or after sentencing, with documentation that the advisory was given recorded in the court record and abstract of conviction.

Designates this legislation as "Alexandra's Law."
