CA SB1315

Requires the State Department of Education to submit a report by March 1, 2025 to the Superintendent, Governor, and Legislature detailing all annual reports required from school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools.

Report must include the purpose of each required report and recommendations for consolidating, eliminating, or shortening reports to reduce burden on local educational agencies.

Department must seek voluntary input from a diverse array of local educational agencies varying in size, type, geographic location, and pupil and staff demographics when developing recommendations.

Encourages Assembly and Senate Education committees, Assembly Budget Committee, Senate Budget and Fiscal Review Committee, and relevant subcommittees to hold a hearing within 30 days of receiving the report to allow the Superintendent to present findings.

Repeals on January 1, 2026.
