Expands Penal Code Sections 311.1, 311.3, 311.4, and 312.3 to include child sexual abuse material that is digitally altered or generated using artificial intelligence, in addition to traditional formats.

Applies criminal prohibitions to digitally altered or AI-generated depictions that appear to show persons under 18 years of age engaging in sexual conduct, with penalties including county jail time up to one year and fines up to $1,000, or state prison time with fines up to $10,000.

Extends forfeiture and destruction provisions to digitally altered or AI-generated matter depicting minors in sexual conduct, allowing courts to order destruction without requiring a criminal conviction.

Maintains exemptions for law enforcement investigations, legitimate medical or educational activities, lawful conduct between spouses, and legally emancipated minors.

Becomes operative only if Assembly Bill 1831 of the 2023-24 Regular Session is enacted and takes effect on or before January 1, 2025.
