CA SB1411

Requires the Instructional Quality Commission to include higher education faculty with relevant subject matter expertise when revising mathematics or science curriculum frameworks and developing associated evaluation criteria.

Authorizes the Intersegmental Committee of the Academic Senates to nominate two faculty members from California public institutions of higher education for consideration to serve on relevant curriculum framework and evaluation criteria committees.

Incorporates provisions from SB 1412 that prohibit curriculum vendors from serving on curriculum framework and evaluation committees or as members of writing teams.

Contains conditional operative language such that Section 1.5 only becomes operative if both SB 1411 and SB 1412 are enacted and effective by January 1, 2025, with this bill enacted after SB 1412.
