Hospitals can apply for extensions to the January 1, 2030 seismic safety compliance deadline, with extensions possible up to January 1, 2035, by submitting a seismic compliance plan, NPC-5 evaluation report, financial plan, and board attestation by specified dates.

The department must adopt emergency regulations by January 1, 2026 to extend deadlines for meeting structural and nonstructural performance requirements under the seismic safety standards.
