CA SB1463

Requires the Governor to appoint a Deputy Director of Self-Determination, subject to Senate confirmation, to oversee implementation and operation of the Self-Determination Program within the Department of Developmental Services.

The Deputy Director shall report directly to the Director of Developmental Services and manage the statewide program providing regional center consumers with increased flexibility, choice, and control over services and supports within individual budgets.

Incorporates technical amendments to the Self-Determination Program including clarifications on spending plan procedures, regional center review processes, and financial management services provider responsibilities.

Specifies that Section 1.5 of the bill becomes operative only if both SB 1463 and SB 1281 are enacted by January 1, 2025, with SB 1463 enacted after SB 1281.
