CA SB24

Permits public officers and candidates to accept public moneys for campaign purposes if a state or local government establishes a dedicated fund through statute, ordinance, resolution, or charter.

Requires that public campaign funds be available to all qualified, voluntarily participating candidates for the same office without regard to incumbency or political party preference.

Prohibits dedicated campaign funds from drawing money earmarked for education, transportation, or public safety, except in charter cities.

Requires the Secretary of State to submit the bill's provisions to California voters for approval at the November 5, 2024 general statewide election.
