CA SB283

Requires school districts, county offices of education, and charter schools to create an individualized asthma action plan for each pupil upon receiving notice from a parent or guardian that the pupil has asthma, commencing with the 2024–25 school year.

Encourages local educational agencies to provide professional development for school staff covering asthma symptoms, common triggers, ways to reduce acute symptoms, and emergency response procedures.

Defines "local educational agency" as a school district, county office of education, or charter school.

Establishes that if the Commission on State Mandates determines the bill imposes state-mandated costs, reimbursement shall be made pursuant to Part 7 of Division 4 of Title 2 of the Government Code.

Names the legislation "Adilene's Law."
