Prohibits health care service plans and health insurers from requiring prior authorization or utilization review for any clinically indicated endometriosis treatment as determined by the treating physician and consistent with nationally recognized evidence-based clinical guidelines for contracts and policies issued on or after January 1, 2024.

Adds clinically indicated endometriosis treatment as a covered Medi-Cal benefit without prior authorization or other utilization review requirements.

Applies to health care service plan contracts under the Knox-Keene Health Care Service Plan Act, health insurance policies regulated by the Department of Insurance, and Medi-Cal benefits administered by the State Department of Health Care Services.

Specifies no state reimbursement is required for local agencies or school districts under Article XIII B of the California Constitution because any costs result from changes to criminal penalties.
