Clarifies that agencies may voluntarily disclose the termination for cause of a former peace officer or custodial officer without needing a public records request.

Allows disclosure of terminations related to disclosable incidents including firearm discharge, excessive force resulting in death or great bodily injury, sexual assault, dishonesty affecting crime reporting or investigation, discrimination, and unlawful arrest or search.

Specifies that voluntary agency disclosure is discretionary and shall not include information otherwise prohibited from disclosure.

Declares this amendment to be clarification of existing law rather than a substantive change to confidentiality protections.
