California Department of Aging must conduct a study examining grandparents aged 60+ who are primary caregivers for their grandchildren, in consultation with the Department of Justice and State Department of Social Services.

Study must determine financial, emotional, and legal support needs and resources required for grandparent caregivers, as well as inequities in guardianship and adoption support offerings.

Study must evaluate ways to expedite grandchild placement with grandparents, assist with related expenses, and determine whether this issue should be included in California's Master Plan for Aging.

California Department of Aging must report study findings to the Legislature in compliance with Government Code Section 9795.

Section 9101.2 of the Welfare and Institutions Code automatically repeals on January 1, 2028.
