CA SB606

Authorizes the California Transportation Commission to relinquish all or a portion of State Route 203 within the Town of Mammoth Lakes' jurisdiction to the town, subject to an agreement between the Department of Transportation and the town.

Requires any relinquishment to comply with all applicable Federal Highway Administration and United States Forest Service requirements before becoming effective.

Stipulates that relinquished portions of Route 203 cease to be state highways and are ineligible for future adoption under state highway law.

Obligates the Town of Mammoth Lakes to maintain traffic flow continuity, post directional signs to Route 203's continuation, preserve California legal truck route designations, and coordinate with federal agencies regarding maintenance and operation.

Relinquishment becomes effective the day after the county recorder records the commission's approval resolution.
