CA SB645

Deletes the exemption that previously allowed school districts with one or fewer administrators to avoid maximum administrative employee to teacher ratio requirements.

Establishes new exemptions for school districts with average daily attendance (ADA) of 2,500 or fewer, allowing them to exclude certain administrative employees from ratio calculations based on their ADA tier.

Districts with ADA under 100 may exclude the Superintendent; districts with ADA 100-250 may exclude the Superintendent plus one additional administrator; districts with ADA 250-750 may exclude the Superintendent plus two additional administrators.

Districts with ADA 750-1,500 may exclude the Superintendent plus three additional administrators; districts with ADA 1,500-2,500 may exclude the Superintendent plus four additional administrators.

Maintains existing maximum ratios of 9 administrative employees per 100 teachers for elementary districts, 8 per 100 for unified districts, and 7 per 100 for high school districts.
