Range Management Advisory Committee must develop guidance for local or regional prescribed grazing plans by July 1, 2025, including best practices for project planning, monitoring, native species diversity, community engagement, and reducing wildfire risk in fire-threatened communities.

Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Department of Conservation shall consider incorporating the prescribed grazing guidance into their respective grant programs.

Local assistance grant program eligibility expanded to include projects involving prescribed grazing application with fencing or watering improvements (excluding well creation or replacement).

Defensible space projects now focus on residents with socioeconomic characteristics that increase wildfire risk or adverse health outcomes, rather than only low-income residents.

Wildfire and Forest Resilience Task Force must develop a strategic action plan by June 30, 2025, to expand prescribed grazing use for wildfire risk reduction and forest resilience, with consideration for incorporation into the January 1, 2026 action plan update.
