Removes requirements that truancy notifications mention potential prosecution of parents/guardians and recommendations that parents accompany pupils to school, effective July 1, 2025.

Requires truancy notifications to include information that mental health and supportive services may be available to pupils and families, and that school personnel can meet with families to develop attendance support strategies.

Adds requirement to notify parents that missing 10 percent of school can impact reading proficiency by third grade, achievement in middle school, and high school graduation.

Notifications must still inform parents/guardians of their obligation to compel attendance and inform pupils of alternative educational programs available in the district.

Establishes state mandate reimbursement procedures for any costs imposed on school districts by these notification requirement changes.
