CA SB711

Requires the Chancellor of California Community Colleges office to produce a report by December 31, 2024, addressing blockchain industry alignment with community college programs, employer workforce needs, and student demand.

Mandates the chancellor's office consult with the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges and convene blockchain industry stakeholders to identify regional workforce needs and include input from faculty, workforce development, K-12 sector, and other relevant stakeholders.

Report must include recommendations on pipeline development between career technical education programs and community colleges, and strategies to promote blockchain-related careers in areas with workforce shortages.

Requires the completed report to be submitted to the Legislature by December 31, 2024.

Bill provisions expire and are repealed on January 1, 2029.
