Authorizes Los Angeles and Nevada Counties to create a veteran suicide prevention training pilot program offering specialized training and certification in suicide prevention for military-connected populations until January 1, 2029.

Requires trained individuals (nonclinicians, paraprofessionals, and peers) to identify suicide risk indicators and provide emergency crisis intervention and referrals for veterans in emotional or psychological distress.

Mandates counties hire a suicide prevention subject matter expert to conduct needs assessments, develop individualized training curricula aligned with Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense guidelines, and assess program outcomes.

Requires counties to submit a report to the Legislature by September 15, 2026, including program information and recommendations on whether to continue or expand the pilot program to other counties.

Removes $100,000 appropriation from General Fund through amendment (bill no longer includes direct funding allocation).
