Orange County Board of Education shall consist of 7 members after the 2030 redistricting process that accounts for seven trustee areas, replacing existing authority allowing 5 or 7 members determined by county committee.

Elections for Orange County Board of Education must be consolidated with statewide general elections in November of even-numbered years, beginning in 2026.

Terms of incumbent officers shall be extended as necessary until successors take office following the new election date.

Legislature finds that a special statute is necessary for Orange County Board of Education due to unique circumstances, rather than applying general law.

If Commission on State Mandates determines the act creates state-mandated costs, reimbursement shall be made under Part 7 of Division 4 of Title 2 of the Government Code.
