Extends the authority of the Los Angeles Unified School District Inspector General indefinitely, removing the previous January 1, 2025 expiration date.

Requires the Inspector General to be appointed by the Board of Education for a 3-year term and to conform to the Principles and Standards for Offices of Inspector General published by the Association of Inspectors General.

Changes reporting requirements from interim and final cumulative reports to a single annual report to the Legislature on or before July 1 of each year, covering subpoena use, quashed subpoenas, and declined prosecutions.

Mandates that audits conducted by the Office of the Inspector General comply with generally accepted auditing standards, including either Government Auditing Standards or International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.

Maintains existing misdemeanor penalties for perjury (up to 6 months or $5,000 for first offense; up to 1 year or $10,000 for subsequent offenses) committed before the Inspector General after administration of an oath.
