Declares August 7, 2024, as Purple Heart Day in California to honor members of the Armed Forces wounded or killed in action.

Recognizes the Purple Heart's origin from the Badge of Military Merit, commissioned by General George Washington on August 7, 1782, making it the first official military combat badge of the United States.

Notes that approximately 2,000,000 Purple Heart medals have been awarded to date, with eligibility extending retroactively to veterans of World War I and beyond.

Acknowledges California's significant military population of more than 1,800,000 veterans and more than 200,000 active and reserve Armed Forces members.

Encourages all Californians to honor Purple Heart recipients and those who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States.
