Highlights that suicide rates among youth ages 15 to 24 have risen over 200 percent in the past five decades, and approximately 17 veterans commit suicide daily in the United States.

Recognizes the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, launched July 16, 2022, which provides confidential support 24 hours a day, seven days a week through over 200 local centers nationwide.

Acknowledges California's Public Health Comprehensive Suicide Prevention Program and organizations like the American Association of Suicidology working to prevent suicide through education, research, intervention services, and bereavement support.
