Recognizes August 26, 2024, as Women's Equality Day to commemorate the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment on August 26, 1920, which secured women's right to vote.

Acknowledges the historic struggle for women's rights dating from the first women's rights convention in 1848 and key legislative achievements including the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.

Notes that despite progress, gender inequality persists in employment, pay equity, job training, childcare access, and family-friendly workplace policies, with women disproportionately affected by poverty and wage gaps.

Recognizes women as critical to California's economy, comprising nearly half the workforce and serving as primary income earners in many households, while facing barriers including historical male privilege, gender bias, discrimination, and harassment.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit copies of the resolution to the author for distribution.
