Acknowledges the history of Gold Star families beginning after World War I, with the gold star symbol representing servicemembers who died in service.

Recognizes that more than 7,000 members of the United States Armed Forces have lost their lives since the start of the War on Terror.

Calls for local, state, and federal leaders to recognize Gold Star families for their sacrifices and support of the country.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to distribute copies of the resolution to the author.
