Expands toll exemption for authorized emergency vehicles to include vehicles displaying "Ambulance" on their exterior, in addition to existing exemptions for vehicles marked "Fire Department," "Sheriff," or "Police"

Ambulances must meet the same conditions as other emergency vehicles for toll exemption: displaying an exempt California license plate, proper emergency vehicle identification, and responding to or returning from urgent/emergency calls

Authorizes ambulance corporation chief executives (or designees) to certify in writing that an ambulance was responding to an emergency, which toll operators must accept in lieu of payment

Toll exemption does not apply to vehicles returning from emergency calls when using high-occupancy toll (HOT) lanes
