Increases maximum monthly compensation for county board of education members based on county class: Class 1 counties up to $3,000/month, Class 2 up to $2,000/month, Class 3 up to $1,500/month, Class 4 up to $1,000/month, and Class 5-8 up to $800/month

Raises maximum monthly compensation for school district governing board members based on average daily attendance: districts over 60,000 students up to $4,500/month, 25,001-60,000 students up to $3,000/month, 10,001-25,000 students up to $2,000/month, 1,001-10,000 students up to $1,200/month, and 1,000 or fewer students up to $600/month

Allows governing boards to approve annual compensation increases of up to 5% beyond the statutory limits

Permits pupil board members to receive elective course credit and/or monthly financial compensation as determined by their respective boards

Prorates compensation for members who miss meetings, calculated by dividing the maximum monthly amount by meetings held and multiplying by meetings attended
