Extends indefinitely the statewide program allowing qualified entities (counties, conservation corps, fire safe councils, registered professional foresters, and others) to conduct defensible space and home hardening assessments to support the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection

Requires the department's training program, beginning July 1, 2026, to include training consistent with the "Home Ignition Zone/Defensible Space Inspector" course plan established by the State Fire Marshal

Maintains the common reporting platform for qualified entities to submit defensible space and home hardening assessment data to the department for quality control and enforcement prioritization

Authorizes the department to use collected assessment data to direct inspection resources toward non-compliant landowners and away from compliant ones, and to estimate statewide defensible space compliance

Requires annual reporting to the Legislature on defensible space data, including parcel inspection rates, compliance levels, and enforcement actions taken
