Establishes a 2-year pilot program requiring the State Department of Public Health to collaborate with UCLA to fund food insecurity questions within the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS)

Targets households with income at or below 400% of the federal poverty level for the food insecurity survey portion

Requires UCLA and the department to publish statewide, regional, and county-level food insecurity data on the public AskCHIS reporting tool, excluding personally identifiable information

Implementation contingent on legislative appropriation and a resolution by the UC Regents, with the pilot planned for 2027 and 2028 calendar years
