Requires the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery to adopt regulations for determining whether compostable products are properly labeled to distinguish them from noncompostable products; current law only authorizes but does not mandate such regulations

Applies to products labeled "compostable" or "home compostable" that must be distinguishable upon reasonable inspection by consumers and enable efficient processing by solid waste facilities
