Extends the maximum duration of protective orders for defendants convicted of domestic violence, human trafficking, gang crimes, or registerable sex offenses from 10 years to 10 years or 2 years after release from state prison or county jail, whichever is later

Extends protective orders for battery convictions against spouses or former spouses from 15 years to 15 years or 2 years after release from incarceration, whichever is later

Amends Penal Code Sections 136.2 and 273.5 to ensure protective orders remain in effect during and after periods of imprisonment

Applies to orders issued at sentencing regardless of whether the defendant receives prison time, jail time, mandatory supervision, or probation

Requires no state reimbursement to local agencies because the changes relate to crime penalties within constitutional provisions
