Introduced February 13, 2026 by Assembly Members Wicks and Krell to amend Civil Code Section 3273.69 regarding social media platforms and child sexual abuse material

Makes a nonsubstantive change to existing law's severability clause, replacing "any" with "a" in the provision stating that if a portion of the title is held invalid, it shall not affect other valid provisions

Existing law already requires social media platforms to provide California residents with accessible mechanisms to report child sexual abuse material in which the reporting user is depicted

Requires no appropriation, has no fiscal impact, and needs only a majority vote to pass
