Expands the definition of "good cause" for granting continuances in criminal cases to include cases where a minor is detained as a material witness or is the victim of the alleged offense

Adds cases involving victims who are 65 years of age or older at the time of the alleged offense to the list of cases supporting good cause for continuances

Includes cases involving dependent adults (as defined in Penal Code Section 368(h)) in the expanded good cause provisions

Continuances granted under these provisions are limited to a maximum of 10 additional court days when the prosecuting attorney has another trial, preliminary hearing, or motion to suppress in progress
