Exempts certain general acute care hospitals from California's hospital seismic safety requirements under the Alfred E. Alquist Hospital Facilities Seismic Safety Act of 1983

Applies only to hospitals that meet federal classification criteria for long-term care hospitals under the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. Sec. 1395x(ccc))

Requires the hospital building to be freestanding and used exclusively to provide extended care to patients with complex medical and rehabilitative needs

Hospital must have already met all seismic requirements that were in effect prior to January 1, 2021 to qualify for the exemption
