The Broomrape Program operates within the Department of Food and Agriculture to address the broomrape weed through research, surveying, detection, analysis, and treatment

Funding comes from the Broomrape Management Account, a continuously appropriated account, with assessments paid equally by tomato producers and handlers

The Broomrape Board advises the Secretary of Food and Agriculture and recommends annual assessment rates and program actions

No state reimbursement to local agencies is required because costs relate only to extending existing crime provisions within the program
