Requires incarcerated firefighter hand crew members in state prisons and county jails to be paid $7.25 per hour while assigned to active fire incidents, in addition to existing sentence reduction credits

Extends the same $7.25 hourly wage to wards and youth hand crew members placed at Pine Grove Youth Conservation Camp while fighting active fires

Mandates annual review of the wage rate

Requires the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and counties to maintain administrative adjudication processes for disputes over wages owed under these provisions

Takes effect immediately as an urgency statute to ensure firefighting resources are available to combat California wildfires
