Requires the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) to revise heat illness guidelines by July 1, 2027, for schools in extreme desert climates within Region Category 3

Raises the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) threshold from 92.1°F to 93.5°F for outdoor athletic practices and contests at eligible desert schools when additional safety measures are implemented

Mandates specific safety protocols including hydration breaks every 15 minutes, reduced practice intensity and duration, onsite monitoring by trained personnel, enhanced heat acclimatization protocols, and availability of shaded rest areas

Requires eligibility for the higher threshold to be based on objective climatic data such as average summer WBGT readings and historical temperature patterns

Allows the 93.5°F threshold to be raised based on peer-reviewed research but prohibits lowering it below 93.5°F
