Requires a working group (established by AB 2225) to develop recommendations for a "State of the Achievement Gap Dashboard" that would be annually updated to track California's progress in closing student academic achievement gaps

Dashboard recommendations must include proposed metrics assessing: local support and service quality, state program evaluation and effectiveness, operational efficiency among state entities, financial support, and state transparency and accountability

Dashboard will also evaluate the Department of Education's governance structure, programs, policies, regulations, and initiatives related to achievement gaps

Amended version shifts responsibility from the Legislative Analyst's Office (which would have issued annual reports by December 1) to the working group established under companion bill AB 2225

Declares closing pupil academic achievement gaps as a state priority and intends the dashboard to provide clear, easy-to-understand metrics for public accountability
