Expands the definition of "elected or appointed official" under the California Public Records Act to include retired judges, court commissioners, federal judges, federal defenders, and judges of federally recognized Indian tribes

Adds active or retired judges of the State Bar Court to the list of protected officials

Includes court-appointed children's counsel in family or dependency proceedings as protected officials

Personal information such as residence addresses and phone numbers of these newly added officials will be exempt from public disclosure under the Act

Unauthorized disclosure of protected information about these officials constitutes a crime, with no state reimbursement to local agencies for enforcement costs
