Authorizes prescribers to dispense unused portions of non-controlled dangerous drugs to emergency room patients upon discharge, provided the drug was administered from single patient use multidose packaging (such as inhalers, eye drops, ear drops, nose drops, topical products, or liquid products) and is needed to continue treatment

Maintains existing authority for prescribers to dispense dangerous drugs, including controlled substances, to ER patients when the hospital pharmacy is closed, limited to a 72-hour supply

Exempts automated unit dose systems (AUDS) used to dispense dangerous drugs to emergency room patients from the California State Board of Pharmacy licensing requirement, provided the hospital pharmacy owns or leases the AUDS and owns the drugs within it

Requires prescribers to ensure all dispensed drugs are properly labeled per Section 4076 requirements and holds prescribers responsible for any errors or omissions related to dispensed drugs
